Introducing the KNIME Certified Trainer Award

A new award to celebrate trainers who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to educating others about KNIME, data science, and analytics

At KNIME, we believe in making data science and analytics accessible to everyone. This mission has been driven forward by a dedicated community of trusted KNIME experts who possess both technical expertise and teaching skills. These individuals have embraced KNIME’s open-source platform and shared its capabilities with learners around the globe. 

Today, we are thrilled to launch a new initiative recognizing these outstanding educators: the KNIME Certified Trainer Award.

What is the KNIME Certified Trainer Award?


The KNIME Certified Trainer Award celebrates excellence in teaching KNIME and helping others upskill in data analytics and data science. It is presented to trainers who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to educating others about KNIME, data science, and analytics, both within and beyond the KNIME community.

These trainers have demonstrated exceptional ability to create and deliver high-quality educational content that has significantly expanded KNIME’s reach and impact.

Meet the First Recipients

We are proud to announce that Keith McCormick and Daniel Weikert are the first recipients of the KNIME Certified Trainer Award. Both trainers have made remarkable contributions to the KNIME community through their extensive teaching efforts on external platforms.

Keith McCormick

Keith McCormick has been a KNIME Certified Trainer since 2022, based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. He is widely recognized for his extensive KNIME and data science courses on LinkedIn Learning, where he has introduced over 20,000 students to KNIME. With a following of 31,000 on LinkedIn Learning, Keith has used his platform to bring KNIME to a broad audience. In addition to his online courses, he also provides corporate training for large enterprises in the United States, further solidifying his leadership in the KNIME educational ecosystem.

Daniel Weikert

Daniel Weikert, a KNIME Certified Trainer since 2022, is based in Frankfurt, Germany. He has been instrumental in teaching KNIME through Udemy, offering courses in both English and German. Daniel’s reach is vast, with over 95,000 students enrolled in his classes (including those outside of KNIME) and 15,000 reviews attesting to the quality of his instruction, Daniel’s influence in the global KNIME educational community is vast. His courses cover various topics, from transitioning from Excel to KNIME to exploring AI with KNIME, making him a prominent figure in the global KNIME educational community.

By awarding this distinction, we aim to highlight the importance of quality education in the growth and adoption of KNIME. Trainers like Keith and Daniel not only teach  KNIME but also empower thousands of learners to maximize the potential of data analytics, driving innovation and progress across various industries.

How to become a KNIME Certified Trainer

If you’re passionate about teaching and eager to share your KNIME knowledge,  becoming a KNIME Certified Trainer is a great way to contribute to the community. You can become a KNIME certified trainer by completing the KNIME online courses and then being evaluated as a trainer.

As a certified trainer, you’ll gain access to exclusive resources, training materials, and ongoing support from KNIME to help you succeed in your educational journey.
