We are happy to announce the new members of the KNIME 5K Club.
The KNIME 5K Club includes the most dedicated and impactful contributors of data science resources to the KNIME Community Hub! Members of this club can be proud that their contributions—workflows or components—have exceeded 5,000 downloads in a single year, underscoring their impact on the KNIME community.
What is the KNIME Community Hub?
The KNIME Community Hub is a collaborative platform connecting KNIME users with a wealth of shared resources. It’s your go-to place to find data solutions – workflows, components, extensions and nodes – contributed by KNIME enthusiasts, enabling users to save time, learn from one another, and get inspired for their next data science projects
The success of the Hub depends on its contributors. Their willingness to share innovative solutions not only enriches the KNIME ecosystem, but also fosters a spirit of collaboration. The 5K Club honors the outstanding KNIME users whose uploads have significantly shaped this thriving community.
2024 “KNIME 5K Club” new members
To be specific, the figures below were calculated based on the combined number of downloads of public workflows or components, respectively, that were contributed in the 2024 calendar year, as of December. The calculation excludes any duplicates.
Either by providing many small workflows to help others, or by uploading an innovative solution with the latest KNIME features, these 5K members have all reached and passed the 5000 downloads milestone in 2024.
Without further ado, let’s celebrate this year’s 5K Members.
5K members for workflows
KNIME Community Hub has thousands of workflows that have been shared by the community for you to reuse for your own data science projects so you don’t always have to start from scratch. Since workflows are built visually with KNIME Analytics Platform, they are easy to share and reuse.
Let’s see which community members have provided the most impactful workflows.
Be inspired by trendsetter Markus Lauber (aka mlauber71) - 8,232 downloads
When a new trend in data science or a new KNIME feature comes out, Markus is surely the first one to try it - and so it is again in this case. When the new GenAI nodes from the GenAI extension were released, Markus was one of the first KNIME users to implement a workflow around them.
Apart from that, Markus is well known for his prolific generation of workflows, covering a wide variety of topics, that he has prepared to assist others users in the KNIME forum. Honored for 8,232 downloaded workflows, Markus has a bit of something for everyone. You can see what he’s been up to lately in his public space on the Hub. Many thanks to Markus for the broad range of workflows he creates to benefit others!
Learn more with utility solutions by Gene Feigel (aka rfeigel) - 6,787 downloads
Gene is another mainstay on the KNIME Community Forum, where he keeps his data skills sharp not only by participating in our seasonal Just KNIME It Challenges, but by providing workflow solutions to those who need them. Check out his public space, where you’ll find plenty of JKI solutions, as well as example workflows covering a wide variety of data concepts that are well annotated and digestible. They are excellent for people wanting to learn more and reuse as utility pieces.
With 6,787 downloads this year, it’s clear that Gene’s innovative workflows continue to resonate with the KNIME community. His dedication to solving complex data challenges has made his content highly sought after. Thank you, Gene!
5k members for components
A KNIME component is a reusable, encapsulated part of a KNIME workflow that bundles tasks (nodes) into a single unit. While a workflow represents an entire analytical or automation process, a component represents a part of that process. Think of a component as a building block within a workflow.
Components are especially useful for standardizing processes, sharing functionality, and maintaining efficient processes.
Explore components for wealth advice and financial planning by Michael Kinens (aka zovanti) - 5,271 downloads
Michael is a technology consultant in the wealth advice and financial planning space, and is responsible for creation of many components specific to that area. No stranger to the field, Michael is not shy about sharing his approach - as evidenced by the sheer number of components in his public space on the KNIME Community Hub.
With 5,271 downloads and counting, his efforts have simplified workflow creation and maintenance for many other users. He is very meticulous in designing his components to ensure they are versatile and a powerful addition to your own workflows. Thank you, Michael, for your contributions!
Honorable mentions
While the 5K Club highlights our top three contributors, several other users deserve recognition for surpassing 1,000 downloads in 2024. Let’s have a look at the leaderboard showing KNIME users whose resources have been downloaded 1k+ by the community.
