KNIME Analytics Platform is spreading into accounting and finance operations. Yes, they all already use Excel, but KNIME Analytics Platform can help with automation, data blending, parametric dashboards, and of course set the stage to try something more complex, like predictions or AI integration. Thanks to its visual and intuitive user interface, building solutions does not require any programming expertise.

During this event, we will present two solutions to common problems in the finance department. We will also show how to leverage KNIME's versatile functionalities to allow for efficient problem solving for fine-graded issues or for large-scale data.

Talk 1: Understanding Financial Performance: Mastering Bank Reconciliation with KNIME by Elisabeth Richter, Data Scientist at KNIME

Rule number one in accounting: always have a grasp on your company's financial performance. So, you basically need to understand where money is coming from and going to. This process is called account reconciliation. One of the most popular types of account reconciliation is bank reconciliation. It compares a company's internally recorded transactions with its externally recorded transactions.

In this presentation, you will learn:

• What bank reconciliation involves and what the four steps of the bank reconciliation process are,
• How to generate a bank reconciliation statement with KNIME Analytics Platform and how to transform it into a shareable Data App,
• The advantages of using KNIME for financial tasks.

Talk 2: Enabling Business Users to Make the Most of Data Investments by Alessandro Paul, Data Scientist at Quantum Analytics

To strengthen their market research and business development, our client invested in the Global Data Pharma Service, but quickly realized that they were unable to realize its full potential with their existing tools.
We’ll share how we introduced KNIME to make things flow, take a look at workflows and dashboards and how KNIME enabled a collaborative effort, allowing our non-technical client to co-develop, identify opportunities and develop their digital literacy.
